All our models are sensory friendly, handmade and fun! We use many fabrics and foams to create our soft sculpture models. Our hard shelled models: the shellfish, crabs and lobster have exoskeletons we make of epoxy & fiberglass (the same process which is used in making a boat hull.) We teach hands- on, the same way we liked to learn in school. We have brought our models to thousands of students with Artist in Residencies, and Grant, Outreach and Afterschool Programs. Director Bette Low is pictured here with our whale brain.
Some models are sculpted in clay first, Designer Bette Low is here with the Horseshoe Crab opisthosoma. A mold is made of this sculpture and our shells are produced from this mold. Soft sculpture internal organs are added to make an anatomically correct , soft sculpture dissectable models.
Third Realm Productions was established in 1990. We have produced 14 different models, a board game, a life sized Goose costume and a 50 foot long Blue Whale puppet with Miracle Fish Puppet Theater. Here is Bette Low, Founder with her life sized Harbor Seal model.
